This Can Be One Of The Worst Fears There Is

The fear of birds is one of the most debilitating phobias there is. After all, when you go outside the place is unlikely to be crawling with spiders and snakes but it is highly likely that there will be birds nearby. If you are not bird phobic and have ever walked outside with someone who is terrified of them, they are SO aware of the birds that you become so too, and suddenly beaks seem to be pointing at you from all directions and it seems that you have stepped into a Hitchcock movie.

Now if you haven’t got this phobia this may seem amusing. If you have, though, it can be a living nightmare.  Some people, such as Victoria used to be (testimonial further down this page) have never been outside by themselves, never been on a beach because of the fear of seagulls, never sat outside at a café for fear of pigeons etc etc.

How Are You Going To Treat My Bird Phobia?

We find that the NLP Fast Phobia Process tends to be the most effective approach. For background information on help with phobias click here.

In addition, there is a large range of other NLP and Hypnotherapy techniques that have shown themselves to be effective through the years. You are an individual and we will do our best to find what is likely to work the fastest, and the most effectively for you.

Things That Can Panic People With A Fear Of Birds

  • Being in the proximity of birds generally (obviously)
  • The flapping of wings (or being afraid that wings may be about to flap)
  • Nature programs on TV
  • The fear of being attacked by a bird
  • Being scared of the possibility of a bird being trapped in a room with them
All of these phobias have nothing to do with rational thinking, or intelligence, they are just conditioned responses. We will recondition the response for good .

Testimonial

Victoria had a phobia of birds, was one of the most extreme phobic’s I have ever met, and had never been outside by herself. She was 30 years old, bright, articulate, and very angry and frustrated with herself as a result of her problem. It took a single one hour session to get rid of the problem for good

Hi Steve

Just a quick note to say thanks so much for helping me get rid of my fear of birds so quickly. As you know, I had never been outside by myself my whole life, and the sense of freedom is amazing. I even went down to Trafalgar Square after, and stood in the middle of thousands of pigeons, laughing.

Thanks again

Victoria C

I need to be rid of my bird phobia . It is not as extreme as others I have heard of but I cannot live on my own as I cannot deal with the knowledge that birds might come into my house and I am trapped in with them, or if I manage to extracate myself I cannot return until I know the bird is gone. I cannot handle dead birds – even on the end of a broom or similar implement. I am moving to live on my own in the depths of the country. Help! I would also like to keep chickens (something I’ve wanted to do for years). I’m 58 now and this has coloured the whole of my life. By the way, I love bird watching – ridiculous eh?

Sarah this is one of the really common phobias and can be a very limiting one to have. What you describe as the knowledge that birds will come into your house is actually your imagination running away from you. When you combine these kinds of vivid visual thoughts with a panicky internal dialogue your body will go into the classic fight/flight adrenalin thing. There are now SO many ways to treat these kinds of phobias so please do feel free to get in touch with one of use. Steve Tromans London 07900 240192.

    Hello,

Do you know of anyone who can assist with a phobia of birds in the New York City/New Jersey area. I have been suffering with this phobia all my life. I am 33 now. I recently had a baby and would like to be able to take my daughter out for a walk in the park without fearing that I will get attacked my pigeons or Canadian Geese. Please help!

    Hi,

I’m 22 years old now and I’ve had this bird phobia thing ever since I can remember. Till this day I still couldn’t find the cause but like you said in the video, it does not matter much. I can never go to the beach, the zoo, or even have a coffee on a nice patio in the summer. Whenever there are birds around, my heart starts beating really fast and I would try to escape to places where there are no birds, there are times I would run into the middle of the road with a lot of traffic because I couldn’t think rationally, all I know is that I need to escape. I’ll very likely to be in London this month and I wonder how much it’s gonna cost to cure the phobia so I can have the money ready. Thank you so much!
