Stop Compulsive Over-Spending and Compulsive Shopping

The addiction to shopping and spending too much money is just that. An addiction. It operates in the brain in the same way that any other addiction does.  Come and see us and get the matter sorted out directly. Please feel free to get in touch

Why Am I Addicted To Shopping?

Two reasons:

Either:

You feel bad (bored or anxious or angry or depressed or desperate etc) and the idea of shopping takes your mind off the ‘bad’ feeling so you go and shop. Often there is a ‘good feeling’ associated with the idea of shopping, and also whilst shopping, and often there isn’t.

Or…

You feel good and you want to keep feeling ‘on a high’ and the idea of shopping makes you feel good so you go and shop.

Actually there is another reason…

You do it out of habit.

In fact, it's all habit, habituated automated patterns of thought that you have unwittingly learned. You don’t need us to tell you of the potentially disastrous consequences of spending money you don’t have because you have probably already experienced a number of these consequences for yourself.

What Are You Going To Do To Stop Me From Compulsive Shopping

Well, it’s not really therapy, you aren’t a broken person that needs mending.  What we do is more akin to training and reconditioning. We use a large variety of hypnotherapeutic and Neuro-Linguistic techniques designed to get you into a position where you are on control of your thoughts and feelings…..rather than the other way around. It’s all about helping you to be the ‘director’ of the thoughts in your mind, ‘rather than just the ‘star’ in endless shopping-binge-moves in your head. The techniques are powerful, straightforward, and proven over many years.

We Will Help You To Deal With The Other Issues Too

Stopping compulsive overspending, learning not to be a shopaholic, is not going to make your life perfect, although the sense of freedom that comes with your ability to be in charge of your thoughts can be truly liberating.  If you have other issues, such as depression or anxiety, then we will help you to deal with those too.  This work is about where you, ideally, want to be, how you, ideally, want to feel. It’s about not about where you have been and what you have done, it’s about where you want to go and what you want to do, and how you want to be.
