Information About Colour Breathing Therapy
What is Colour Breathing Therapy ?
This technique was invented in the UK in 1997 by complementary therapist
Alison Bourne. The system is in fact a combination of several much
older techniques into a single process designed to induce a state
of deep relaxation and a feeling of well being.
Seven coloured disks are employed, each colour is related to one of the
seven 'Chakra' energy centres located along the head and spine.
One is taught special breathing techniques that one employs whilst focusing
on the colour disk and enhancing the chakra energy centre.
The technique produces several beneficial effects as listed below:
The conscious use of the breath
to relax the mind and physical body,
The use of a focus to calm the mind,
The use of colour therapy,
The use of the affirmative ‘I am’,
Awareness of the seven major energy centres, known as "Chakras",
A heightened state of awareness of ‘the now’
Although Colour Breathing Therapy requires special aparatus (The coloured
disks) they are small and easily transportable enabling the technique
to be employed in any quiet, convienient place - work, college the
park etc.
