Information About Chiropractic Therapy
What is Chiropractic Therapy?
Daniel David Palmer founded Chiropractic theory 1895. The
basic principal of Chiropractic Therapy postulates that all diseases
suffered by the human body are the result of a ms-alignment or displacement
of bones within the spine. These misplaced bones interrupt
the flow of energy from the brain to the body causing undesirable
results. The chiropractor performs a series of manipulations aiming
to ensure the correct alignment and positioning of the vertebrae
thereby restoring the energy flow and thus tackling the condition
under treatment. Modern therapists often acknowledge that
other influences (germs, lifestyle, genetics etc) have a major malign
influence on health but that misaligned vertebrae hamper the immune
system reducing the bodies resistance to disease.
A growing number of Chiropractic therapists reject traditional
dogma and restrict treatment to musculoskeletal problems. These practitioners
are more closely aligned with modern scientific theory and practice
often prescribing additional treatments such as home exercise routines,
application of icepacks and in some cases ultrasound therapy.
Although X-rays are sometimes used for chiropractic analytical
purposes, other conventional drugs and surgery are not necessary
to treat most disorders. Chiropractic therapy can be used to treat
most health problems but is particularly efficacious in the treatment
of musculoskeletal conditions. Therapists consider regular
chiropractic sessions essential to maintain a healthy state of body
and mind.
