Stop Drinking So Much Coffee

There is plenty of evidence to suggest that drinking even one cup of coffee a day can produce withdrawal symptoms.  Basically, caffeine, however taken, is a drug that causes neural activity that makes your adrenal glands produce adrenalin, the chemical that’s designed to put your body into a fight/flight state. Although we think of caffeine in coffee, tea, chocolate etc, as the "wake-me-up" chemical, chronic drinking of it can cause chronic fatigue, constant headaches, moodiness, and depression for some people.  Caffeine is the most widely taken drug on the planet.  Obviously, it isn’t just your cup of coffee that is the culprit, tea and chocolate also contain the drug and many soft drinks actively promote its use!

Why Am I Addicted To Caffeine?

Firstly it is a chemical addiction.  Drinking tea, coffee etc causes the adrenal glands to release adrenalin, as we have said. What happens as a consequence is the initial ‘hit’ as the adrenalin gets into your blood. This is, basically, a ‘stress’ response. When this stress response begins to wear off, usually within an hour or so, the person beings to get feelings of lethargy or tiredness so will often have more to bring their energy levels back up again.  Sometimes, people will also eat something high in sugar, which also gives the short term energy boost. So the blood sugar level goes up and down, and up and down. As with any drug, prolonged usage builds up ‘resistance’. In extreme cases, even with dozens of cups of coffee a day the person remains feeling burnt out (this is because the adrenal glands have been strained to exhaustion point).

Secondly it is a ‘psychological’ habit, an automated sequence in your neurology that repeats like a movie in your mind on a constant loop

So What Are You Going To Do Help Me Stop Drinking Too Much Coffee?

We treat this addiction with the same sorts of overall strategies we use with all addictions. The combination of techniques available from the fields of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) provide a powerful set of tools that help us to help you make. We don’t focus on the ‘origins’ of the problem, we train your mind, both consciously and unconsciously, to make your caffeine addiction a thing of the past.

Coffee Addiction Treatment Testimonial

' I would never have believed that in just one session you could make such an impact on my life, Jacquie.

I was addicted to coffee, drinking several triple shots of coffee a day and having issues with so much caffeine in my system. I was diagnosed with a muscular disorder and felt so ill and tired all the time I hated how my life was. I initially contacted you for weight loss but within 15 minutes you had cured my phobia of wasps and tested it in the garden which gave me such confidence in you.

I now drink perhaps one cup of coffee a day if I want it and I feel so relaxed and happy that the weight has started to drop off. Thank you …but you haven’t got rid of me yet …I have a height phobia to sort out next !!!!!!!!!!!! '
